Understanding the PRP Facelift

Treatments such as the PRP facelift, the Breast Lift®, and the PRP facial are all variations on a singular advancement known as PRP, or platelet-rich plasma.

When the patient’s blood is drawn, it is put into a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma, which contains a high concentration of active proteins and growth factors that assist with healing injuries and tissue damage.

These growth factors work by encouraging an increase in collagen production – the lack of which, of course, is a frequent culprit of prematurely aging skin.
